About CDs

What is a CD? A type of investment that pays at a set rate of interest over a particular time period (term).

What are some uses for CDs?

  • Retirement — CDs are ideal for retirement savings because they give you a guaranteed rate of return on your money, so you know exactly what you’re getting and when.
  • Investing — CDs are also great for low maintenance investing. You can use a “set it and forget it” style of investing without having to monitor them on a regular basis like you might otherwise have to with stocks or other variable investments.

Send money via ACH from your bank

  • Use your bank’s ACH transfer feature (commonly called External Transfer); use routing number 303087995 for Vio Bank

If you’ve selected ACH as your funding method, within four business days, we’ll send two small deposits of less than $1 to the bank account you provided. These transactions will be called “MidFirst Bank Test Tran” (Vio is a division of MidFirst Bank) and will be used to help us verify your access to the account. Once you’ve received the deposits, simply follow the steps below to verify the transactions:

  1. Go to viobank.com/complete.
  2. Enter the email address you provided at account opening and the verification provided in the “Thank you for opening your Vio Bank account” email.
  3. Follow the directions on the subsequent pages, where you’ll be asked to enter your test transaction amounts. Once these steps are completed, we’ll transfer your initial deposit amount into your new Vio Bank account.
  4. You will be directed to online banking enrollment.

It is Vio Bank’s policy to require notarized forms when making changes to or performing transactions on your account to help ensure it is you requesting the change and not a fraudulent attempt to access or update your account.

The Vio Bank routing number is 303087995. This routing number is also registered to MidFirst Bank since Vio Bank is a division of MidFirst Bank. You may view your whole account number by logging into your online banking. Simply go to the Accounts tab on your Vio Bank online banking profile. Click the Online Documents link, and then select your last statement. The full account number will be viewable on your statement.

As listed in the Vio Bank Account Agreement, the maximum balance allowed for Vio is $2.5 million.

Vio Bank will typically place a hold on deposits for five business days, although some circumstances may necessitate a longer hold to ensure good funds and the safety of your account. During that period, you will see your deposit within Vio Online/Mobile Banking, but you won’t be able to transfer it out until the period ends. You will earn the full amount of interest for those days regardless of the length of the hold.
